Camp Highlights:

  • Two-week Health Sciences Summer Enrichment Program (HSSEP).
  • Strenthen skills in science and mathematics in a college environment.
  • Interactive sessions with health care professionals and their workplaces.
  • Exposure to admission processes for pre-health.
  • Upon completion, students will receive quantitative feedback on their strenths and weakness to help them become stronger health professionals.

Camp Highlights:

  • Presentations on topics such as the JAMP program, medical school admission, plastic surgery, ethics in medicine, psychiatry, emergency medicine, pediatrics and more
  • Hands-on laboratory activities including exploring the human brain, learning the art of suturing and arm wrapping
  • Guided tours of University Hospital, UTHSCSA Medical School, and St. Mary’s University
  • Panel discussion with current JAMP medical students and Pre-medical students
  • Visiting the Bulverde Cadaver Lab
  • Participants in the Pathways Camp will also have time to engage in various evening activities such as bowling, dodge ball, jumping at ThinAir, and movie night.

Stephen F. Austin State University Summer Pre-Med Camp

Camp Highlights:

  • Free Pre Med camp. Housing, meals, books and supplies are provided to the student. Also, travel awards are available for students to offset the cost incurred by travel to Nacogdoches, TX.
  • Academic reviews in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Insights into medical school and the medical profession from talks with current medical students and medical school administrators
  • Exposure to the medical profession by spending time in local clinics/hospitals and interacting with the doctors and staff in these facilities - sharing in the joy of helping others by cooperative service within the community
  • Experience a week of "college life" and enjoy the facilities at Stephen F. Austin State University.
